March 3- March 14

Math:
  • Subtract 100 facts in 5 minutes
  • Read/Create/Analyze tally charts, bar graphs, and pictographs
  • Use standard and nonstandard units of measurement
  • Measure objects using inches and centimeters
  • Solve word problems using multiple strategies
  • Stanford 10 Test Prep- review strategies, using scratch paper, bubbling answers, etc.
Language Arts:
  • Read and write variety of poems 
  • Identify rhyme, rhythm, alliterations, main idea in poetry
  • Locate facts while reading
  • Identify the author's purpose 
Science:
  • Learn about the desert, tundra, rainforest, forest, and ocean.
  • Learn about why and how each animals survives in its environment (adaptations)
  • Explain how plants and animals depend on one another
  • Choose an animal of interest and write a research report on that animal using StoryKit
  • Create a quadrama depicting 4 habitats and the plants and animals that live in them

Math Madness begins March 7-March 21 all funds help put up a shade structure over the kinder playground!
