Math:
- Subtract 100 facts in 5 minutes
- Measure objects using standard and nonstandard units of measurement
- Choose appropriate tools to measure capacity, length, and weight
- Solve measurement word problems
- Compare measurements justifying their thinking
- Use guess and check as a strategy to solve problems
- Write a color poem using sensory words and adjectives
- Write alliterations
- Read and listen to a variety of poems
- Write an acrostic name poem
- Publish their poems
- Identify the author's purpose in a text and justify their reasoning
Science:
- Classify solids, liquids, and gases
- Conduct a liquid experiment using their senses to guess the liquid based on sight, smell, and viscosity
- Make a Root Beer float to observe the 3 states of matter
- Observe and watch a movie clip of Olaf and discuss how matter can change forms
- Classify a variety of plants and animals found in different habitats (focus: desert, tundra, rainforest, and forest)
- Describe how plants and animals depend on one another for survival
- Compare and contrast different habitats based on weather, plants, and animals
- Explain how specific adaptations help plants and animals survive in their environment
Reminders
- Rodeo Break: NO SCHOOL Thursday 2/23 and Friday 2/24
